GreenFest on the Greenbelt is a festival hosted by the Greenbelt Alliance, a 501 (c) 3 organization dedicated to raising awareness and funds for the preservation of the Denton County Greenbelt. The Alliance hosts this annual festival on the Greenbelt during the last Saturday of September. The festival features live music from bands like the Grammy Award winner, Brave Combo, delicious food from local vendors, and outdoor athletics like horse-back riding, rock climbing, fishing, and canoeing. Visitors can also view demonstrations from nature experts, bicycle down the Greenbelt, or learn to cast with Backyard Bass. The event features several kid-friendly activities including animal exhibits, nature education, and a bounce house and an inflatable slide.
