Kyle Herranen is a Canadian interdisciplinary artist born and raised in the boreal forest of northern Ontario whose artwork addresses complex issues of culture, nature, and the environment. He studied Classical Animation at Sheridan College in 1997 before earning his BFA at York University in 2004 and receiving his MFA from the University of Regina in 2008. He is best known for his highly polished shallow relief resin sculptures that de-code contemporary notions of aesthetics and how these socially constructed realities both parallel and reject nature and the environment. Kyle is currently represented by Darrell Bell Gallery (Saskatoon), Gurevich Fine Art (Winnipeg), and SLATE Fine Art Gallery (Regina).
