Post nasal drip is very inconvenient and disturbing. It is the main cause of bad breath in a lot of people. It occurs due to high productions of mucus by the mucosa cells. The excess mucus starts dripping down into the back of throat where it accumulates. When a person is sick e.g. during rhinitis and sinusitis the mucus produced is unhealthy and white or yellowish in color. The mucus at the throat provides a perfect breeding ground for aerobic bacteria’s that normally cause bad breath. Due to the increase of nutrients the bacteria’s multiply, eat and excrete resulting to foul smelly breath, sore throat and coughs.
