Maps of pre-war London can be viewed on this website. Over one hundred pages show detailed large scale street maps of every part of London as it was at the
beginning of the Second World War. The streets and buildings shown reflect the London urban
landscape prior to the blitz, which subsequently destroyed many of the old streets and buildings. The maps represent a historical record of London as it was in the early twentieth century. Extracts from old Bartholomew half inch maps also show the London Boroughs as they were in the middle of last century. In addition to the old Bartholomew maps, modern Google street maps and aerial
satellite photographs can be viewed on separate pages.
