Most photographers dream of shooting commercial photography. Photographing beautiful models in bikinis and sexy outfits for catalogs and calendars. While a select lucky few in places like LA and Miami have shoots like that everyday, most photographers in other parts of the country are lucky to get those kind of shoots once or twice a month. Unfortunately that`s not going to pay the bills on a month to month basis. That`s why I`ve always continued to shoot industrial product photography. It may not be as glamorous as shooting models, but it consistently pays the bills. Industrial companies always need product photographers to shoot new product designs. These images are needed for brochures, slicks, trade show exhibits and web sites. The best part is that since they are always modifying their products, they`ll need you back again and again to re-shoot them.
